Job Summary

The DMM will support the Vice President of Purchasing to develop and lead theIntegrated Merchandising Management (IMM) teams responsible Pro Audio/Video.This person will help develop solutions through harnessing interdepartmental support to drive focus around the development of Pro Audio/Video categories, supporting growth across the board, with an emphasis on Adorama branded channels. This person will utilize IMM for the buying organization and work cross functionally with other internal capabilities e.g. marketing, web dev., to help drive change management. This person must be open-minded, observant and have the skillset not only to identify gaps but to also ensure solutions are in place effectively driving execution

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Lead the merchandising team up-market into the pro category by driving high end professional brands and products into the assortment
  • Lead the merchandising strategy for professional photo/video/audio in all channels, with a primary focus on building the Adorama Pro Services brand channels.
  • Support VP of Purchasing in executing the annual forecast/budgeting process with the merchants
  • Build leading desktop and mobile experience to enable shoppers to discover, learn, and purchase Pro products
  • Lead knowledge and content develop to be the distinctive and authoritative destination for Pro knowledge serving customers and associates.
  • Curate industry-leading Pro assortment and brands, inventory profile, and informative and engaging product data OR
  • Creatively plan profitable product assortments and promotions to set the categories on a course for sustainable future growth
  • Influence, negotiate and work with vendors in the marketplace
  • Develop/improve sales organization effectiveness and capabilities, to enable existing account growth and accelerate new business
  • Leads and coordinates efforts to develop new or revised processes/procedures across multiple operational and business areas
  • Quantifies business opportunities and issues and develops formal plans for implementation
  • Creating and presenting high-quality documents and presentations to senior leadership both inside and outside the company
  • Determining the appropriate methods and systems of metrics for measuring and monitoring marketing effectiveness, including brand awareness, brand equity, and sales results
  • Partnering with internal teams to improve data quality and enhance the customer experience.
  • Conducting business analysis to ensure the health of the business and to provide visibility to senior leadership

Qualifications and Skills

  • Four-year degree or equivalent work experience
  • Expert knowledge of core merchandising systems and processes
  • Pro Audio and Video product/market experience
  • Experience with P&L accountability
  • Vendor buying and negotiation skills with proven ability to work with a wide variety of vendors both large and small
  • Experience with integrated business-to-business sales, product, and technology
  • Strong collaboration skills to build long-term strategic partnerships with key vendors and internally with other Adorama business leaders
  • Transformational change leadership experience, proven planning/organizational skills
  • Microsoft Powerpoint & Excel Skills
